Lameroo & Parilla SA

After leaving Tailem Bend headed further east to Lameroo & spent the night here. Refreshed ourselves with couple beers @ local pub

 


Lameroo's claim to fame "Birthplace of Julie Anthony"

Lameroo was proclaimed in 1884 & is the main service centre for surrounding farming area

Parilla is named after an Aboriginal word "cold place". It was surveyed in 1904 & proclaimed a town in 1907 & came to life when the railway arrived. This malee area has both traditional & newer crops including potatoes, carrots & onions & big silo!!
